Timothy J. Battista
Timothy began working for Verna's Accounting and Tax Services in 1998 and continued to work while serving in the United States Army National Guard as a Marksmanship Instructor. He attended Camden County College where he earned his Associate Degree in Business Management and began dedicating his time at Verna's full time in January 2000.
After Camden County College, Timothy transferred to Rowan University where he earned his Bachelor Degree in Accounting. On September 29, 2002, after nine years of service, Timothy ended his career in the United States Army National Guard.
Throughout his career, Timothy has specialized in individual, corporate and small business accounting including, bookkeeping, job costing, tax planning and preparation, financial reporting and projections. He has over 10 years QuickBooks experience and manages multiple businesses day-to-day operations.
Kerry A. Revelas, CPA
Prior to joining Verna and Associates in 2005, Kerry was the owner of Revelas, Heward & Company, LLC. RH&CO, LLC was an accounting firm specializing in small and medium sized businesses. Kerry purchased his firm in January of 1998 and along with his staff provided professional accounting, taxation and business consulting services to a wide range of individual and business clientele. In November of 2005 Kerry merged his firm into Verna and Associates which allowed for more available resources with which to service his clients and develop his practice. Kerry has over twenty years experience providing quality accounting services to small and mid-sized businesses through-out the Delaware Valley.
Throughout his career, Kerry has gained invaluable knowledge of a wide range of industries. He consistently uses this knowledge to give sound advice to all of his clients. The core services he provides include corporate, individual and estate & trust income tax planning and preparation, financial reporting and business start-up consulting. Kerry places a high value on customer service and enjoys all of the relationships he has with all of his clients.
Kerry graduated from Rowan University with a bachelors' degree in accounting. He is a member of the New Jersey Society of Public Accountants. He also serves on the executive boards of both the Greater Woodbury Chamber of Commerce and the Woodbury Rotary Club.
Paul Verna, CPA
Paul began his career in 1989 with Bierbrunner & Verna. In 1993 Paul, along with his father, Robert J. Verna, began Verna's Accounting & Tax Services. They specialized in small to medium size companies with their list of services ranging from bookkeeping services to attestation services. In 1997, Paul became the sole owner of Verna's Accounting & Tax Services. Throughout the next several years, Paul built the firm by implementing the two philosophies of his father: Charge a fair price and treat all your clients like family. It is through these two philosophies that Verna's Accounting & Tax Services morphed into the firm it is today, Verna & Associates: a full service accounting firm that services over 1500 businesses throughout the eastern seaboard.
Paul specializes in providing financial reporting and tax services, including audits, reviews, compilations, tax planning and consulting services primarily to middle-market companies, high-net-worth individuals and owner managed businesses in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, construction, wholesale, retail, investment and real estate.
Paul graduated from Saint Joseph's University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Paul is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New Jersey Society of Public Accountants. He is certified in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Delaware.
Robert J. Verna, Founder
Upon graduation from Upper Darby High School, Robert entered the U.S. Army serving with the 89th Infantry Division in the European Theater. Upon being discharged, Robert returned home and obtained a bachelor degree from Temple University in accounting. After graduation, Robert worked in the accounting field, but was soon drawn into the retail market.
Robert opened a local hardware store in Southwest Philadelphia which he successfully operated for over twenty years. Robert returned to accounting in 1970 working as an accountant with Ball, Buckley and Bierbrunner, a local firm. In 1980, Robert and Hank Bierbrunner left the firm to form their own firm, Bierbrunner and Verna, locating in Thorofare, New Jersey.
In 1993, Robert and his son, Paul, formed their own firm, Verna's Accounting and Tax Services, in Thorofare, New Jersey. In 1997, Robert was succeeded by Paul as Principal of Verna's Accounting & Tax Services. Robert remains a staple at the firm sharing over 60 years of business experience to both clients and the Firm's personnel.
Joseph L. Whitaker, CPA
Prior to joining Verna & Associates in 2003, Joe was Manager of Treasury and Accounting for a $50 million privately held human resource management company. He was also assistant controller at a $100 million publically held home nursing and medical equipment company and a senior associate at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers, LP). At Coopers & Lybrand, Joe spent five years serving publicly and privately held businesses in the firm's Manufacturing, Financial Services and Colleges & Universities groups. Joe has over twenty years of related experience.
